Fire Safety Training has been a mandatory requirement for all employees since 2006. Our online fire safety training course is ideal for fulfilling this mandatory requirement and has been endorsed by West Yorkshire Fire Service.

 Fire Safety and Evacuation

Fire is probably the biggest risk to life that most people face in the workplace. As a result employers are legally required by Fire Safety Regulations to provide information, instruction and training to employees about the fire precautions in the workplace. In order to minimise this risk it is important that all employers and employees are aware of the common causes of fire and the appropriate actions to take in the event of a fire including how to escape safely from the scene, should a fire occur. This fire safety and evacuation training will help employers to fulfil this requirement by offering learners with knowledge and understanding required to act safely in the event of a fire in the workplace.

On completion of this course learners will:

  • Be aware of the key legislation relating to fire safety
  • Know what the ‘Fire Triangle’ is
  • Broadly know about fire detection and warning systems, how to use and react to them
  • Understand the key factors relating to evacuation in the event of fire
  • Know about the types of fire that can develop, and what type of extinguishers can be used on them
  • Be aware of what precautions you can take to minimise the risk of fire
